Receive a verification code by email
Many sites send a one-time code or a confirmation link before you can continue. A temporary address receives that mail in seconds, so you can finish the step without giving out your own address.
Three steps
Create an address and copy it. Paste it into the form and ask for the code. Keep the inbox open: the mail appears on its own, usually within seconds, and you copy the code or click the link.
Code not arriving?
Some senders take a minute or two. Check that you pasted the whole address, then ask for a new code. A few sites block temporary addresses; then this site cannot help, and you need another address.
A second code later
Sites sometimes send another code an hour or a day later. Your address lasts 24 hours, and Extend adds 24 hours at a time, up to 7 days. Open the inbox on your phone with the QR code if the code needs to be typed there.
Not for accounts you keep
After the address expires its mail is deleted and the address can later be given to someone else. Use your own address for accounts you may need to recover, such as banking, shopping or work.
